Artificial intelligence is going to help the iGaming industry reach four times its current value
The technological development that involves releasing virtual reality (VR) products is becoming more accessible with time and that waiting period has allowed somehow for people to prepare for the adoption of this technology on a more regular basis in the future. This is in only one of the multiple artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions that are already servicing the gambling market, and that is slowly overcoming its own challenges. The speed with which gambling companies are adopting AI solutions has increased even more due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, so the gambling industry can expect to evolve significantly through next year.
By next year, the amount of money placed through VR betting solutions will grow to just under $520 million, according to a study from Juniper Research, which brings all kinds of possibilities for operators. Meanwhile, technology giants such as Samsung and even Facebook, are already working on making affordable VR devices for mass consumers. As the online gaming industry evolves, experts believe that a good portion of VR deployments will be focused on delivering a more immersive casino experience.
The initial steps of VR casino games will most likely consist of players using smartphone-based headsets like Samsung’s Gear VR, and top-end devices like the Oculus Rift. These devices required the use of an advanced computer, so it will be limited to early adopters. “These will be coupled with a niche clientele, often high-rollers, thereby resulting in comparatively large average wager amongst these early adopters,” report author Lauren Foye said.
So far, casino operators are beginning to experiment with VR slot machines that are being reported as a major hit. Next year is poised to bring multiple VR deployments as more AI solutions are being integrated with VR. The only delay is the availability of VR gear; however, that is expected to change soon as Samsung and other tech giants are about to change that.
