The past ten years have shown what AI can do to make the iGaming space better for consumers
The global gambling industry has undergone a lot of significant changes over the years, but has seen even more in the past decade. Artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly become an integral component of casino operations, especially for the iGaming segment, due to its inherent ability to compile and analyze data. However, AI is also helping casinos become safter, presenting solutions that help them address responsible gaming practices better.
Responsible gaming is one of the constant targets of regulators that oversee gaming around the world. AI is making it easier for iGaming operators to comply with regulations, paving the way for automated player profiling and other solutions that can identify potential problems before they arise. Through AI-based player profiling, tremendous amounts of data are processed at once to understand player behavior and highlight any potential issues, such as non-stop purchases, unusual amounts of time gambling and more.
AI is also able to ensure that payment methods are rightfully tied to the user, reducing fraud and potential gambling problems. By monitoring how and when purchases are made, operators can detect any possible red flags and intervene if necessary. Because AI can process thousands of data points in only a few seconds, the customer never realizes that the analysis is occurring.
While there is significant debate over what constitutes problem gambling, the issue won’t go away. Regulators continue to clamp down more on operators’ activity, thinning out the platforms’ resources. However, AI is providing a necessary solution to make the task of complying with problem gambling regulations easier, while still being able to provide an enjoyable source of entertainment.
