The casino tech company has teamed up with the Responsible Gambling Council on safer gambling

Gambling technology company Playtech, which provides products to online casinos around the world, wants to make the gambling space safer. It has announced a new collaborative effort with the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) that will see it incorporate solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI) for the purpose of strengthening the industry. These tools are designed to provide more effective insights into gambling activity to improve mental health and well-being.

Playtech explained in a press release that it will be using the AI tools to help the RGC study possible connections between mental health and gambling. The initiative follows a recent increase in global gambling opportunities that have been accompanied by a similar increase in raising problem gambling awareness. The RGC is behind a number of initiatives created to introduce best practices related to responsible gambling, while allowing the gambling industry to develop at an acceptable pace. The new AI solutions will allow for the compilation of large amounts of globally-available data that can help lead to tailored results that will protect both gamblers and operators.

Playtech interim Chair Claire Milne explains, “The Responsible Gambling Council is a leader in research and best practice standards that drive the gambling sector to build a more sustainable and safe industry for the benefit of all stakeholders. As part of our Sustainable Success strategy we aspire to develop meaningful partnerships that will advance the safer gambling agenda. This collaboration will aid us in fulfilling our duty and commitment to use our expertise, experience and technology to promote an industry which provides both an entertaining and safe environment that supports digital and mental wellbeing and resilience.”
